“The Government is paying special attention to administrative reforms. Ca Mau’s public administrative centre is operating effectively. But it is better to assign the leaders of provincial departments to directly handle dossiers and make decisions at the centre,” Minister Dung said.

The government official made the remarks at a working session with the leaders of Ca Mau province on August 11, to inspect the implementation of the tasks assigned by the Government in 2017 and 2018.

According to the provincial People’s Committee of Ca Mau, the Government assigned 653 tasks to the province from early 2017 to July 2018. The province has completed 455 tasks and is implementing 198 others, including one task that has expired.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Tien Hai, said that the province is facing many difficulties in realising its tasks due to overlapping mechanisms. He also asked for continued disbursement for ongoing infrastructure projects.

Minister Dung said that the Government also attaches great importance to Ca Mau’s agricultural restructuring. With its strength in aquaculture, particularly shrimp farming, Ca Mau should have appropriate solutions to create momentum for the local economy.

Chairman of the Government Office agreed with the proposals from the province leaders, adding that the proposals will be reviewed and addressed soon to remove difficulties for the locality.
