Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia made the request during his working session with the Steering Committee and the Organising Committee of the exchange programme, in Hanoi, on August 13.

At the event, the agencies and units concerned reported on the implementation progress to prepare the third border friendship exchange programme 2018 as per the defined plan.

The programme is scheduled to take place from August 23 to 26, with the delegates representing the border protection forces of six countries Vietnam, China, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar.

In particular, the cultural exchange programme will be held in Hanoi on August 25 and will be broadcast live on VTV1 channel of Vietnam Television.

The programme is expected to offer a golden opportunity for the border guards from the six countries to share experience and initiatives in border defence, management, and construction.
