Joachim von Amsberg said that the AIIB appreciated the participation of the State Bank of Vietnam in AIIB governance and suggested that Vietnam continue to play an active and responsible role in activities of the AIIB in the future.

Vietnamese Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung expressed his delight at the AIIB Vice President's visit to Vietnam and his participation in the 2018 World Economic Forum on ASEAN.

The Deputy PM congratulated the AIIB on its achievements after three years’ of establishment while affirming that as one of the founder members of the AIIB, Vietnam pledges to be a reliable and reputable member of the bank in order to make more contributions to the effective operations of the bank.

The government official noted that the AIIB's supply of financial services for infrastructure development without requiring government guarantees is suitable with Vietnam's policy and capital mobilisation orientation.

Joachim von Amsberg said that the bank is interested in supporting several specific infrastructure development projects in Vietnam.

Deputy PM Dung added that the Vietnamese Government will ask concerned ministries and sectors to work more closely with the AIIB to reach a concrete agreement soon, thereby building a model for projects funded by the AIIB in Vietnam.
