Politburo member Nguyen Thien Nhan meets Chinese State Councillor Wang Yi

Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Nguyen Thien Nhan, hosted a reception in Ho Chi Minh City on September 15 for Chinese State Councillor and Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, who is in Vietnam to chair the 11th meeting of the China-Vietnam Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation.

Speaking at the reception, Politburo member Nguyen Thien Nhan expressed his congratulations and highly appreciated the significance of the 11th meeting of the China-Vietnam Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation, which has contributed to promoting the friendly and cooperative relations, and brought about practical benefits for the two countries.

Ho Chi Minh City always strives to contribute to the development of the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, he said, adding that, in the past few years, relations between Ho Chi Minh City and China have continued to grow, especially in the fields of economics and trade. The city has established friendly relations with many localities in China, he noted.

For his part, State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi affirmed his efforts to promote the relationship between China and Vietnam in general, and China and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

China is ready to share its experience in socio-economic development with Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City, he said, noting that the two countries’ cooperation has been strengthened in all fields, contributing to the common development of the Vietnam-China relationship.

On the same day, the Chinese delegation led by State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi laid a wreath at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh on Nguyen Hue walking street in Ho Chi Minh City.
