Eighth session of the Party Central Committee to convene on October 2

The Party Central Committee (PCC) Commission for Communications and Education, in coordination with the PCC Office, held a press conference in Hanoi, on September 28, to present information on the eighth plenary session of the 12th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Accordingly, the session will be organised from October 2-6. The Party Central Committee is expected to issue conclusions on the socio-economic development situation in 2018 and a socio-economic development plan and budget estimates for 2019, while adopting a resolution on Vietnam’s sustainable sea-based economic development strategy.

The session is slated to examine the draft regulations related to the responsibility for setting examples of Party members and officials, especially Politburo members, members of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and the Party Central Committee and consider the establishment of sub-committees in preparation for the 13th Party Congress.

Regarding the introduction of personnel to the State President post, the Party Central Committee will consider the introduction of personnel to the position based on the authorised offices’ preparations and in accordance with the Party’s regulations.

Personnel work is another item on the working agenda, along with several other important issues.
