Vietnamese Party delegation visits Lao Vientiane province

A high ranking delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam, led by Politburo member Tran Quoc Vuong, toured Vientiane province in Laos on October 10, as part of their ongoing visit to the neighbouring country.

At the reception for the visiting delegation, Secretary of the Party Committee and Governor of Vientiane, Vidong Sayasone, briefed the guests on the local socio-economic development and Party building, as well as cooperation with Vietnamese localities that Vientiane has set up relations with, including Hai Duong, Yen Bai, Nghe An and Hai Phong.

Comrade Sayasone affirmed that Vientiane will always strive to contribute to the fruitful development of the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

Vietnamese Politburo member Vuong, who is also Permanent member of the Secretariat, congratulated the local Party organisation, administration and residents on their important achievements gained in various areas over the past years.

He expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the Party committee, administration and locals of Vientiane will successfully fulfill all targets set in the resolution released at the Lao Party’s 10th Congress and the fifth provincial Party committee’s congress, making Vientiane more prosperous.

Politburo member Vuong also praised the outcomes of cooperation and mutual support between Vientiane and Vietnamese localities, while expressing his hope that Vientiane will continue expanding partnership with Vietnam’s localities, especially in defence-security, human resource development, Party building, local economic management, trade, tourism, agriculture, modern rural area building, and poverty reduction.

Earlier, on October 9, Politburo member Vuong and his delegation paid a visit to the Vietnamese 11th Military Corps, the unit responsible for construction of the Lao National Assembly’s new building.

Encouraging the staff at the site, the Vietnamese senior Party official stated that the project is a gift from the Vietnamese Party, State and people to the Lao Party, State and people. As the corps have been entrusted with the task of constructing the building for the Lao side, Politburo member Vuong urged the 11th Military Corps to concentrate all its capabilities and resources in the construction of works, considering it as a key task to help ensure the construction’s progress and quality, as it is among the symbolic works of traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
