NDO/VNA – The 14th National Assembly will elect the President in the morning of October 23, the second day of its ongoing sixth session.

The result of the secret vote is scheduled to be announced in the afternoon.

Then the newly-elected President will take the oath of office and deliver a speech at the swearing-in ceremony, which will be broadcast live by the Vietnam Television and Radio The Voice of Vietnam.

The same day, the deputies will vote on a resolution approving the dismissal of Truong Minh Tuan from the post of the Minister of Information and Communications.

They will also discuss in groups the approval of the appointment to the post of the Minister of Information and Communications as proposed by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
