Deputy PM presents first-class Labour Order to Hanoi’s Chuong My district

The Party committee, authorities and people of Hanoi’s Chuong My district held a ceremony on November 24 to mark the 130th founding anniversary of the district (April 1, 1888-2018) and receive the Labour Order, first class.

The event was attended by Truong Hoa Binh, Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, and Hoang Trung Hai, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Deputy PM Binh presented the first-class Labour Order of the State President to the Party committee and people of Chuong My.

Addressing the ceremony, Dinh Manh Hung, Chairman of the Chuong My People’s Committee, said that, throughout the 130 years of construction and development, the Party, authorities and people of the district have always upheld patriotism, overcome difficulties and tapped into the potential to boost local economic, cultural and social development.

After ten years of implementing the National Assembly’s Resolution No. 15 on the adjustment of Hanoi’s administrative boundaries, Chuong My has constantly achieved a high economic growth rate, 11.9% on average annually. The locale’s income per capita has increased 4.8-fold from VND8.8 million annually in 2008 to VND43 million this year, while the rate of poor households is declining year after year, from 16.3% in 2008 to just 2.51% in 2018.

On the occasion, Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh visited and presented gifts to heroic Vietnamese mother Le Thi Nghi, war invalid Le Van Chi, and a martyr’s wife Nguyen Thi Nhiem in Phuong Nghia village, Phung Chau commune, Chuong My district. He paid tribute to the loss suffered by the families in the cause of national reunification, asking the local authorities to continue caring for families of revolutionary contributors and policy beneficiary families.
