Chairwoman Ngan said PM Hun Sen’s official visit is a landmark moment in the bilateral relations and also shows the Cambodian leader’s special sentiment towards the traditional friendship between the two countries.

Informing NA Chairwoman Ngan on his country’s recent socio-economic development and the results of the 6th-tenure NA election, Hun Sen said that, in this tenure, the Cambodian Government will make efforts to solve border-related issues with its neighbouring countries, including Vietnam.

Chairwoman Ngan emphasised that Vietnam always supports and is delighted at Cambodia’s development achievements. She also congratulated the country on the successful general election.

She voiced her belief that, under the leadership of the Cambodian Senate, NA and Royal Government with the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) as the core, the country will sustain its growth and stability, have an increasing role and stature in the region and the world, and obtain even greater accomplishments in national construction.

Applauding the outcomes of the talks between PMs Hun Sen and Nguyen Xuan Phuc, including the signing of five cooperation documents, NA Chairwoman Ngan affirmed that the Vietnamese NA will work closely with the Cambodian NA and Senate to supervise the realisation of the bilateral agreements and promote cooperation between the two Governments, peoples and parliaments both bilaterally and multilaterally.

At the meeting, the leaders noted with satisfaction the progress in their countries’ connections. They underlined the necessity of communications to help people, especially younger generations, in the two countries to fully understand and continue treasuring the time-tested solidarity and friendship.

Chairwoman Ngan highly valued PM Hun Sen’s attention to the issues relevant to Vietnamese-Cambodians, asking him to continue directing support for them so that the community can contribute to Cambodia’s development and the bilateral friendship.
