The workshop aims to mark the 74th founding anniversary of the People’s Army of Vietnam and the 105th anniversary of General Thanh’s birthday.

With nearly 50 papers from various military units and research institutes, the workshop helped shed light on General Thanh’s brilliant revolutionary career and the significant contributions he made in the war against the French and the war to liberate the southern region.

The workshop also underlined his contributions as the person who initiated major emulation movements in the nation’s recent history.

Speaking at the workshop, Editor-in-chief Pham Hong Long of the Emulation and Commendation Review, stated that General Thanh’s leadership in these movements left valuable lessons for later generations to follow.

For his part, HUBT Deputy Rector Ha Duc Tru stated that the organisation of the workshop helps encourage officials, Party members and the people to follow the moral example of President Ho Chi Minh and his excellent disciples, including General Thanh.
