The event saw the presence of Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue and Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education Vo Van Thuong.
Nguyen Cong Tru’s hometown was in Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province, but he was born in 1778 in Thai Binh province.
Nguyen Cong Tru left a distinctive imprint on many areas of politics, the military, economics, culture and art during nearly 30 years serving as a mandarin in the former feudal court.
He has always been recognised as an excellent military expert and outstanding economist. Nguyen Cong Tru was a great contributor to the Nguyen dynasty and helped tostabilise the country and outline sound policies to develop the economy.
In particular, Nguyen Cong Tru had adistinguished literary career imbued with human values. He also opened up a new period of prosperity for Ca Tru (ceremonial singing).
Addressing the event, Chairman of Ha Tinh provincial People’s Committee Dang Quoc Khanh said that the ceremony was an opportunity to show gratitude to Nguyen Cong Tru while affirming the lasting values that Nguyen Cong Tru has left behind.
At the ceremony, Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue granted a certificate in recognition of Nghi Xuan district as a “new-style rural district” to the district authorities.
