The Front 579 memorial site showcases nearly 100 pictures and artifacts associated with the years of hardship and sacrifices that Vietnamese soldiers underwent to protect the long-term peace for the Cambodian people.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, General Huot Chhieng, Commander of the Military Region 1 of the Royal Cambodian Army, recalled the great sacrifice of the Vietnamese army during the ten years of fighting against Pol Pot forces, particularly in the struggles in the Preah Vihear province along the Cambodia-Thailand border.

He noted that the Cambodian people and army always bear in mind the sacrifice of Vietnamese soldiers as well as their relatives to help Cambodia escape from the genocidal regime.
