At the Ho Chi Minh City meeting, Ngan conveyed her best wishes to the artists on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet). She praised them in making important contributions to taking care of the cultural and spiritual lives of local people, contributing to effectively implementing the socio-economic tasks and cultural development of the country.

Along with the reception of the world’s literary and artistic quintessence, the artists have contributed to preserving and promoting traditional Vietnamese culture, thereby helping Vietnamese culture to integrate rather than dissolve, she affirmed.

Stating that the State always focuses on building and improving the legal guidelines and policies in this field to create the best conditions for artists to develop their talents, Ngan expressed her wish that the artists would make more contributions with high values to honestly and deeply reflect the economic and political life of the nation, contributing to preserving and promoting the Vietnamese culture imbued with the national identity in the international integration period.

According to the senior legislator, the role of artists and writers is crucial in conveying the Party and State's guidelines and policies and reflecting the real life of the country in all aspects. Therefore, artists also need to keep abreast of life and dare to go into hot spots. Along with works praising achievements, there must also be works that criticise the negative aspects of society, but need to focus on the orientation to create trust in the public of positive things.

Furthermore, artists need to clearly see their responsibilities in protecting and promoting the national cultural identity, as culture is the spiritual foundation of the society, as well as the goal and the driving force of the country’s development, she added.
