Addressing the event, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasised that the life and revolutionary career of comrade Nguyen Duc Canh is a shining example of patriotism, revolutionary heroism, tireless learning and training, and lifelong sacrifice for national independence and freedom, as well as for the people’s happiness.

The immortal example of the communist soldier Nguyen Duc Canh forever endures with the nation, he affirmed.

The government leader recognised and highly appreciated the sentiments and responsibilities of the Party Committee, authorities and people of Hai Phong in joining the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, businesses, philanthropists and workers nationwide to raise funding for the construction of the memorial house in remembrance of the faithful communist, who was the first Secretary of the Hai Phong municipal Party Committee.

He asked Hai Phong to effectively perform the management, preservation and promotion of the value of the memorial house so that it becomes a “red address” of the city in particular and the working class and Vietnam’s trade union organisations as a whole in educating the revolutionary ideology and tradition of the bright example of comrade Nguyen Duc Canh.

With Canh’s life and career almost completely attached to the land of Hai Phong, PM Phuc encouraged the municipal authorities to pay attention to collecting documents and artifacts on comrade Canh, contributing to making his life and revolutionary career more vivid.

Nguyen Duc Canh was one of the outstanding leaders of the Communist Party of Vietnam, an excellent student of late President Ho Chi Minh, and the first president of Vietnam’s trade union organisation.
