Deputy PM begins official visit to DPRK

NDO/VNA/MOFA- Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh arrived in Pyongyang on February 12, starting his three-day official visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) at the invitation of DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho.

At their talks in Pyongyang,Minh and Ri Yong-ho briefed each other about the socio-economic development of each country. They agreed to continue coordinating at international and regional forums such as the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, the ASEAN Regional Forum, as well as international conferences and forums among political parties.

The two sides agreed to enhance the exchange of viewpoints over issues of mutual concern such as the maintenance of peace and stability in the region.

The visit of Deputy PM and FM Minh to Pyongyang is being made after DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho officially visited Hanoi from November 29 to December 2 last year.
