At a reception for Belgian Ambassador Paul Jansen in Hanoi on February 14, the official said Belgium’s cultural exchange programmes in 2018 received enthusiastic response of local residents.

Chairman Chung expressed his hope that such activities will be held annually to help Hanoians understand more about Belgian culture, and attract more Belgian enterprises to the city and Vietnam at large.

For his part, Ambassador Jansen highlighted close and long-term cooperation between Hanoi and many Belgian localities and firms, noting his hope for increased exchange and collaboration between the two sides.

The diplomat also talked about major valid joint projects between Belgium and Hanoi, covering Thang Long imperial citadel upgrading, water supply, climate change and the building of European Management University in Hanoi.

He called for more support from Hanoi in cooperation and exchange activities between the two sides in the time ahead.
