Kon Tum Chairman Nguyen Van Hoa stated that, in 2018, the province’s economic output grew by 9.28% with the poverty rate falling by 4.08 percentage points to 17.29%.
Last year, the province also attracted nearly VND9.7 trillion (US$417.1 million) in 52 projects and collected VND2.8 trillion (US$120.4 million) in budget revenue.
Speaking at the working session, Vice President Thinh recognised the results that Kon Tum recorded in the past year and asked the province to focus on building new rural areas and vocational training as a solution to sustainable poverty reduction.
On the occasion, she handed VND200 million (US$8,600) to the Fund for Children of Kon Tum province.
Earlier the same day, Vice President Thinh attended a conference reviewing the emulation movement in the central coastal and Central Highlands provinces.
