Vietnam, China begin fishery inspection in Gulf of Tonkin

The Vietnamese and Chinese coast guards began their joint fishery inspection for 2019 in the Gulf of Tonkin on April 24.

Both sides held talks aboard Vietnam's Vessel CSB 8004 to reach consensus on fishery inspection in the area, including monitoring the implementation of the fishery cooperation agreement at nine points in the Gulf of Tonkin’s joint fishing area.

It was the 17th time they had conducted joint inspection since the agreement took effect. Activities include expertise exchange, inspection and supervision of fishermen’s fishing vessels.

The joint inspection will last till April 26.
