Speaking at the meeting, VFF President Tran Thanh Man introduced some basic characteristics of the role, functions and tasks of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

He also expressed his thanks to the Finnish Government for providing ODA to Vietnam in the areas of poverty reduction, clean water, rural development, forestry management, and creative innovation.

He voiced his hopes that the Finnish Government will soon open a preferential credit programme for investment in the public sector for Vietnam; create more conditions to grant scholarships to Vietnamese students; as well as create favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Finland.

For his part, Finnish Ambassador Kari Kahiluoto spoke highly of the fine relations between the two countries, adding that the Finnish Government will continue to invest in Vietnam. During his tenure in Vietnam, the Ambassador will support and actively develop friendly and cooperative relations between Vietnam and Finland in politics, diplomacy, trade and investment, development cooperation, and education and training, he noted.
