The event was attended by Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh.
The two-day festival attracted almost 400 delegates, including nearly 300 athletes who are officials, members of women unions and people from 42 provinces and cities around the country.
The participants will compete in four categories: volleyball, badminton, aerobic and flash mob dance.
This year's festival is held in response to the Vietnam Health Programme and the Vietnam Family Day (June 28).
The event is expected to create a valueable playground for women, contributing to improving the living standards and spiritual lives for women in particular and people in general.
After the opening ceremony, a friendly badminton match was held between the duos Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh – Secretary of Bac Ninh provincial Party Committee Nguyen Huu Quat and Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, President of the Vietnam Women's Union – Nguyen Huu Thanh, Vice Chairman of Bac Ninh provincial People’s Committee.
