Hanoi enhances cooperation with French capital region

The visit made by the delegation of the Ile-de-France region to Hanoi will further enhance the cooperation between Vietnam and France as well as the Vietnamese capital city and French capital region.

The statement was made by Chairman of Hanoi municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung during his talks with Valérie Pécresse, President of the Regional Council of Ile-de-France, on July 16 in the capital city.

He expressed his hope that the cooperation agreements during the ongoing visit would preserve and promote the successes in the relations between Hanoi and Ile-de-France region in recent years to come. Accordingly, Vietnams’ capital would enhance cooperation with French localities in building smart urban areas.

Chairman Chung also noted that after the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) is signed, Hanoi wishes to develop the circular economy model that was implemented successfully in the EU countries.

He also emphasised the enhancement of the exchanges of young businesses between the two countries, contributing to developing the startup ecosystem in Hanoi.

For her part, President of the Regional Council of Ile-de-France, Valérie Pécresse, expressed her honour and pleasure at her visit on the occasion of 30th anniversary of the cooperation between Hanoi and the region.

She expressed her wish that the two sides would promote the cooperation in building creative urban areas, towards sustainable development.

The French guest gave her sincere thanks to the Chairman of Hanoi municipal People’s Committee for his support in creating conditions for French enterprises, especially those from the Ile-de-France region, to join the urban railway project no.3.

She also affirmed the strong cooperation in tourism, heritage conservation and science-technology between the two sides.
