NA’s law and ordinance building programme implemented

A conference to implement the National Assembly (NA)'s law and ordinance building programme in the last months of 2019 and 2020 was held in Hanoi on July 18.

The conference, jointly held by the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee and the Government, was co-chaired by Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh and member of the Party Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu.

According to Chairman of the NA Law Committee Nguyen Khac Dinh, at the seventh session the NA adopted Resolution No. 78/2019/QH14 on the legislature’s programme of building laws and ordinances in 2020 and adjustments to the law and ordinance building plan in 2019.

After this meeting, the NASC issued Resolution No. 714/NQ-UBTVQH14 on the implementation of the NA’s Resolution, together with the assignment of submission, verification and supervision agencies.

At the eighth session, scheduled be held in October 2019, the NA will consider and approve 10 bills, and discuss eight other bills.

Under the programme for 2020, eight draft laws and one resolution will be adopted while seven draft laws will be submitted to the NA’s 9th session. The NA is also expected to adopt seven draft laws and discuss two bills at its 10th session.

The NASC has also received proposals to add two bills and a draft resolution to the law and ordinance building programme in 2019, and a draft law to the 2020 programme.
