The suggestion was made by Politburo member and Permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong during his visit to work with the Kon Tun Provincial Party Committee on August 7.

Speaking at the session, Politburo member Vuong praised the positive results obtained by Kon Tum in implementing the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 15th Kon Tum Provincial Party Congress, term 2015-2020.

The province should develop clean agriculture, multi-functional high technology, energy and processing industries, border gate economy and tourism, as well as focus on sustainably developing forests with higher productivity in combination with growing medical herbs.

More attention should also be paid to improving educational quality, handling land-related issues, raising intellectual standards of local people, and attracting further investors, especially big and high-potential ones, he said.

From now until the end of their term, along with boosting economic development, the province’s authorities should focus on strengthening Party building and actively prepare for organising the Party congresses at all levels, as well as determining the direction and objectives of local development in the future, he noted.
