Vietnam congratulates Moldova on National Day

Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine, with concurrent accreditation to Moldova, Nguyen Anh Tuan and his wife attended activities marking 28th anniversary of Moldova’s Independence Day (August 27) in the capital city of Chisinau on August 27-28, at the invitation of Moldovan President Igor Dodon and his spouse.

At a reception banquet, Ambassador Tuan cordially greeted President Igor Dodon, while conveying the congratulations of Vietnamese Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong to him and Moldovan people on their National Day as well as for the country’s achievements.

The Moldovan President gave his thanks to Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong and the Vietnamese people, while looking forward to welcoming the senior leader’s visit to Moldova.

At his meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova Nicolae Popescu, Ambassador Nguyen Anh Tuan conveyed the congratulations of Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh on the National Day of Modova.

He also wished that the Foreign Ministries of Vietnam and Moldova would continue to uphold the traditional friendship as well as enhance the cooperation and support each other in the international arena to actively contribute to the development of the two countries, for peace, cooperation and common development in the region and the world.

Moldovan Minister Nicolae Popescu extended his sincere thanks to Vietnamese Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh for their messages of congratulations on the occasion of the 28th National Day.

He also affirmed that Moldova always attaches importance to relations with Vietnam and is willing to welcome high-level Vietnamese delegations.

The Moldovan diplomat also hopes to visit Vietnam at the appropriate time to enhance the bilateral relations and the mutual understandings between the two governments and two peoples.

The Vietnamese Ambassador gave thanks to Moldovan Government for supporting Vietnam to become a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the term 2020-2021.
