Vietnam’s National Day celebrated in Japan, Mozambique

Vietnamese Embassy in Mozambique held a solemn ceremony in the capital city of Maputo on August 29 to mark the 74th anniversary of August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mozambique Le Huy Hoang highlighted the significance of the August Revolution and National Day as well as the achievements in socio-economic development, security, defence and external relations that the country has gained over the past 74 years.

He also emphasised the country’s positive contributions to the peace and development in the region and the world, particularly its’ participation in many peacekeeping activities in Africa and preparations for taking the role of a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2020-2021 tenure and the Chair of ASEAN in 2020.

The Ambassador congratulated Mozambique on the multifaceted achievements that they gained in the recent years, noting that Vietnam always attaches great importance to developing the traditional friendship and cooperation with the country.

For his part, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security of Mozambique, Higino Francisco de Marrule, expressed his admiration and congratulations to Vietnamese Government and people on their great achievements during the fight for national independence in the past and on the cause of national development today.

Mozambique commits to continuously tightening friendship and solidarity with Vietnam and hopes that Vietnam will continue to share experience in economic development and integration, said the Minister.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Le Huy Hoang conveyed the greetings from the Party and State leaders to the overseas Vietnamese (OV) who are living in Maputo and other localities in Mozambique, calling for the OV community to uphold the solidarity in the host country.

Also on the same day, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Japan’s Fukuoka prefecture, held a ceremony to celebrate Vietnam’s National Day and its tenth anniversary.

Vietnamese Consul General Vu Binh said that the event aimed to pay gratitude to friends, partners and colleages who have contributed to the rapid development of Vietnam – Japan relations over the past ten years.

The Consulate General has actively contributed to expanding and deepening the friendship between Vietnam with eight provinces in Kyushu – Okinawa. Currently, there are more than 50 large companies from this region investing in Vietnam. The two-way trade between Vietnam and Kyushu has continuously increased from US$2 billion in 2013 to US$3.5 billion in 2018.
