PM offers incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc offered incense to President Ho Chi Minh at the Uncle Ho Memorial House at No. 112 Mai Thuc Loan street, Thuan Loc ward, Hue city (Thua Thien - Hue province) on the afternoon of September 1.

It was among a series of activities being held across the nation on the 50th anniversary of implementing President Ho Chi Minh's Testament and commemorating the 50th anniversary of his passing away.

PM Phuc and his entourage respectfully offered flowers and incense to the late President and his parents, sincerely commemorating and expressing deep gratitude for the great merits of President Ho Chi Minh. Leaving his words in the memorial book at the house, PM Phuc praised the noble virtue and great contributions of Uncle Ho in leading the nation to liberation and independence, Prime Minister Phuc affirmed: “We all vow to follow the path of the Party and of Uncle Ho that have outlined, sparing no efforts to study and effectively implement the Great Testament of Uncle Ho.”

He expressed his hope that the Ho Chi Minh Museum and Thua Thien - Hue province preserve the precious heritage so that the younger generations and everyone can visit this meaningful house.

The same day, PM Phuc visited the Thua Thien - Hue Centre for Smart City Monitoring and Operating, a model recently awarded by the Telecom Asia Awards 2019 in the most innovative smart cities category.

* On Sunday evening, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh's Testament, the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education in collaboration with the Vietnam Television Station organised a live broadcast programme themed "Solidarity Song" simultaneously in Hanoi, Thua Thien - Hue, Nghe An and Ho Chi Minh City.

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc joined the programme in Hue, while National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan attended the event in Ho Chi Minh City.

The highlight of the programme were art performances with immortal songs praising the Party and Uncle Ho, expressing the gratitude and sentiment of the whole nation towards the beloved leader.

It also introduced over ten reports and documentaries recreated the process Uncle Ho writing his testament, while emphasising the great value of the document in affirming that solidarity is the strength of the whole Party, the entire people and the whole army to unite and have determination to beat the invaders and hostile forces to protect and develop the country.

There were meaningful interviews and exchanges with special guests at the event, who have been linked with the great life and career of President Ho Chi Minh.

* On the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of September 2, a Government delegation led by Politburo member and Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh visited and gave gifts to families of war invalids, former soldiers, and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in Vinh city (Nghe An province) on Sunday afternoon.

* The Vietnamese Embassies in Hungary and Germany, as well as the Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston, hosted banquets and celebrations to mark the 74th National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

* On the occasion, the Vietnam Embassy in Russia and Hanoi - Moscow Multifunctional Complex (Incentra) have coordinated to organise a table tennis tournament named "Incentra Open 2019".

On September 1, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Ekaterinburg city, in Sverdlovsk Oblast, central Russia, coordinated with the Vietnamese Association in Sverdlovsk Oblast and the local authorities to organise the first "Vietnam’s Culinary Culture Day in Ekaterinburg." The event featured Vietnamese traditional dishes, special art shows and photo exhibitions to promote the country and people of Vietnam to Russian and international friends.
