* Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping cabled a congratulatory message to General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong, while Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress Li Zhanshu sent congratulations to their respective Vietnamese counterparts, Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.
In their messages, the Chinese Party and State leaders highly appreciated the achievements Vietnam has attained over recent times, voicing their belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) the Vietnamese people will successfully realise the goals set by the 12th National Party Congress, promptly building the socialist Vietnam into a strong nation with wealthy people and a democratic, fair and civilised society. They affirmed that China attaches importance to developing relations with Vietnam, while remaining willing to join Vietnam in strengthening the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in a stable and sustainable manner, towards celebrating 70 years of bilateral diplomatic ties in 2020.
* Lao Party General Secretary and President Bounnhang Vorachith, Prime Minister of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and Chairwoman of the Lao National Assembly Pany Yathotou extended their congratulations to Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Chairwoman of the Vietnamese NA Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, respectively.
The Lao leaders voiced their pleasure at the significant achievements attained by the brotherly Vietnam in national construction and development, affirming that regardless of the complicated developments in the regional and international situations, the great friendly relations, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples of Laos and Vietnam have always been maintained and nurtured, becoming invaluable common assets, the rule of existence and development, and the decisive factors to the success of the revolutionary cause in each country. They expressed their deep gratitude and sincere thanks to the Vietnamese Party, State and people for providing huge, precious, timely and effective support and assistance to the Lao revolutionary cause, asserting that the Party, State and people of Laos will continue to join their Vietnamese comrades to maintain, nurture and develop the Vietnam-Laos special relationship to be forever green and forever sustainable.
* Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, Cambodian PM Techo Hun Sen and Acting President of the Senate of Cambodia Sim Ka sent respective congratulatory letters to Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Chairwoman of the NA Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan. The Cambodian People’s Party Central Committee also cabled a message of congratulations to the CPV Central Committee.
In their messages, the Cambodian leaders extended congratulations on the significant achievements attained by the Vietnamese Party, Government and people over recent times under the righteous and bright leadership of the CPV, contributing to enhancing Vietnam’s position in the region and the world. They particularly congratulated Vietnam on its election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2020-2021. The Cambodian leaders spoke highly of the solidarity, traditional friendly relations and comprehensive, sustainable and long-term cooperation between the two countries’ Parties, parliaments, governments and people, affirming their determination to unceasingly foster bilateral relations. They also voiced their belief that the Vietnam-Cambodia ties will continue to be further enhanced in an extensive and durable manner, for the common interests of the two countries, and for common peace, cooperation and prosperity in the region.
* President of the Council of State and Council of Ministers of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez sent his congratulations to Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong and PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc. Meanwhile, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee Raul Castro cabled a congratulatory message to Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong.
In their messages, the Cuban leaders sent best wishes to the senior Vietnamese leaders, expressing their belief that Cuba and Vietnam will continue to solidify the historic brotherly relations and cooperation. They affirmed their wish to tighten ties and solidarity between the two nations, Parties and governments.
* Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev extended congratulations to Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong and PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc, respectively. Meanwhile, President of the Russian Federation Council Valentina Ivanovna Matvienko and Chairman of the State Duma of Russia Volodin Viaсheslav Viktoroviсh sent a congratulatory message to NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.
The Russian leaders highly appreciated the traditional friendly relations and the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia, which are growing extensively across all fields, especially the economy, trade and investment with many big projects on energy, industry and infrastructure. They said they believed that the activities within the framework of the Vietnam Year in Russia and Russia Year in Vietnam in 2019 and 2020 will create a new impulse for the acceleration of bilateral and multilateral cooperation for the benefit of the two countries’ peoples.
* On the occasion, leaders of Singapore, Thailand and Myanmar sent messages of congratulations to Party leader-President Nguyen Phu Trong, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.
* Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh also received congratulations from his Chinese, Cambodian, Cuban, Singaporean, Thai and Myanmar counterparts.
