Chairwoman of the Lao National Assembly visits Army Corp 11

On the occasion of the 74th National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Chairwoman of the Lao National Assembly Pany Yathotou paid a visit to the construction site of the new National Assembly House of Laos on September 2 to encourage officers and soldiers of the Army Corp 11 and the Ministry of Defence of Vietnam.

At the meeting, Major General Nguyen Quoc Dung, Commander of Army Corp 11 reported to the NA Chairwoman on the progress of construction of the new NA House as well as the efforts made by Army Corp 11 in ensuring the building would be put into use by 2021, when Laos’s special events are scheduled.

Chairwoman of the Lao National Assembly Pany Yathotou congratulated officers and soldiers of Army Corp 11 on the 74th National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, saying that the special relationship between Laos and Vietnam would continue to develop in a more effective and practical manner.

Construction of the Lao National Assembly House, a gift of the Vietnamese Party, State and people to the neighbouring country, began in Vientiane in November 2017.

The new building, which covers 23,400 square metres next to Thatluang, a sacred place symbolising Laos’s solidarity, will be considered as a symbol of friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples.
