National Assembly Standing Committee to discuss 13 laws

The National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) plans to convene its 37th session from September 9-21 to discuss 13 laws and a report reviewing 5 years of implementing the 2013 Constitution.

Preparation for the parliament’s 8th plenary meeting and other reports will also be on the NASC’s agenda.

In addition, the NASC will weigh up the need to introduce a resolution on managing and using funds collected from disinvestment in State-owned enterprises.

The committee members are also expected to voice their opinions on a draft decree regulating customs procedures so as to implement ASEAN Protocol 7 on the customs transit system.

As part of its two-week meeting, the NASC will also consider and make decisions on the re-organisation of a number of administrative units.

Sa Pa district, where the resort town of Sa Pa is located, is expected to be upgraded to a district-level town while a number of rural communes in Quang Ninh and Hai Duong provinces will be upgraded to urban wards.
