Indian congratulates Vietnam on National Day

President of the Republic of India, Ram Nath Kovind, has sent a congratulatory message to Vietnamese Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 -2019).

In his message, the Indian president expressed his impression on Vietnam's economic growth as well as the prosperity of the Vietnamese people.

He also said he was pleased that the two sides are effectively implementing the agreements reached during the high-level visit to Vietnam in November 2018, emphasising that both sides have created an unprecedented impetus for bilateral relations.

Congratulating Vietnam on being elected as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2020-2021 term, he said India wants to work closely with Vietnam on issues that are important to the region and the globe.
