Vietnam, Cuba hold Inter-Governmental Committee’s 37th meeting

The Vietnam-Cuba Inter-Governmental Committee convened its 37th meeting in Hanoi on September 10, under the chair of Vietnamese Minister of Construction Pham Hong Ha and Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz.

At the meeting, Minister of Construction Pham Hong Ha affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always attach great importance to the time-honoured friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.

The bilateral relations are currently at their best development period ever and the two countries together have been expanding in all fields, he noted, adding that the two countries always give each other active support at multilateral forums, contributing actively to protect the interests and enhance the position of each country in the region and the world.

For his part, Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz affirmed that the fine relationship between Cuba and Vietnam is developing well which was reflected through many high-level visits made by leaders of the two countries.

Vietnam’s cooperative projects on rice, corn, soybean and coffee plantation and aquatic farming in Cuba have produced positive results. Currently, Vietnam is the Caribbean nation’s second largest partner in Asia and Oceania.

At the meeting, both sides pledged to create favourable conditions to speed up the implementation of investment projects, and discuss cooperation possibilities in potential aspects.
