The Ambassador made the remarks while visiting the 10th ManiFiesta Festival, held by the Workers’ Party of Belgium in the city of Bredene, on September 21-22.
This year’s event, which featured more than 100 stalls, saw the participation of 20 communist parties and left-wing parties from countries across the world.
Ambassador Quang told the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Belgium that the festival is an opportunity for Vietnam to express its solidarity with communist parties and international workers.
He revealed that Vietnam intends to open a stall at the festival next year to promote Vietnamese cuisine, culture and tourism to Belgian workers and international friends.
ManiFiesta Director Mario Franssen welcomed the Vietnamese Embassy’s support for the festival. He stated that the organisers have a close relationship with the Vietnamese Embassy in Belgium and highlighted Vietnam's attachment to ManiFiesta right from the festival’s beginnings.
The organisers reopened the International Village at the festival this year and expressed their wish to welcome the Vietnamese stall at the village next year.
The 10th festival included music performances, displays of cuisine, and nearly 200 discussions on women’s rights, environmental protection, anti-racism, and others.
*On September 22, Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium Vu Anh Quang also participated in a traditional Mid-Autumn festival held by the General Association of Overseas Vietnamese in Belgium.
Lion Dances and lantern processions were the highlights of the festival held in Ixelles, Brussels, which attracted the attention of crowds of Vietnamese people and locals alike.
