Deputy PM attends Great National Unity Festival in Nghe An

Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister VuongDinh Hue attended the Great National Unity Festival in Tan Lap 1 village, Nghi Quang commune, Nghi Loc district, in Nghe An province, on November 16.

Deputy PM Hue granted VND2.8 billion (US$120,900) to the Nghe An authorities to build 70 social houses for needy households in the province.

Tan Lap 1 is a coastal fishing village with 100% of its residents being Catholics. Local people have united to effectively carry out many patriotic emulation movements, particularly in the building of new-style rural areas.

Deputy PM Hue appreciated the ceaseless efforts of the locals to develop their locality in various areas as well as their solidarity in organising many meaningful social activities.

The Government official expressed his wish that local authorities and people in Tan Lap 1 village would continue to follow the Party and State’s guidelines and policies to develop the local economy and improve the living standards of the locals.

He hoped that the village will soon reduce its poverty rate and meet all criteria set for new-style rural areas.
