Strengthening the time-honoured relationship with the Communist Party of Russia

As part of his visit to Russia, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and Director of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) Nguyen Xuan Thang held a working session with Dmitry Novikov, Vice Chairman of the Communist Party of Russia (CPR) and First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs, on November 27.

Speaking at the meeting, Nguyen Xuan Thang, who is also Chairman of the PCC Theory Council, offered congratulations on the success of the CPR in the recent election, especially in the legislature of the capital city of Moscow and Khabarovsk Province.

He expressed his belief that the CPR will continue to strengthen its solid position in the socio-political life in Russia, making an important contribution to the development and prosperity of the Russian Federation.

He also affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam always attaches great importance to strengthening the time-honoured relations with the CPR; and emphasised that the relationship between the two parties has great significance in the overall relationship between Vietnam and Russia, while at the same time contributing to strengthening the communist movement and international workers.

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the relationship between the two parties and the two countries; discuss coordination measures on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Lenin's birth, the 130th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, and the 75th anniversary of the Victory over Nazi Germany.

In particular, the two sides also discussed Marxism-Leninism, the theory of the path to socialism in Vietnam, and the socialist-oriented market economy model in Vietnam; as well as the undeniable influence of Lenin and the former Soviet Union on Russia's development nowadays.

On the same day, PCC Secretary Nguyen Xuan Thang also paid a visit to the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia.
