Leaders meet voters after NA’s 8th sitting

Politburo member and Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong joined National Assembly (NA) deputies of Yen Bai Province in a meeting with local voters on November 30 to inform them of the results of the recently-concluded 14th NA’s eighth session.

At the meeting, the voters expressed their hope that the NA would continue to improve the quality and effectiveness of its supervision over anti-corruption, construction investment management, natural resource management, and environmental protection, as well as investing more in traffic routes to help boost linkage between provinces in the region.

Speaking at the meeting, Vuong praised the achievements of the local authorities and people in recent years, while acknowledging the enthusiastic comments and recommendations from the delegates at the meeting.

He suggested that the local Party Committee and provincial authorities should continue to focus on directing the effective implementation of the province’s set targets, ensuring the protection of people's health, and Party building.

* On the same day, Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Organisation, joined the NA deputy Delegation of Quang Ninh Province in meeting with voters in Hoanh Bo District.

He suggested the local authorities to promptly address the concerns of local voters related to the policy of merging the administrative boundary of Hoanh Bo District into Ha Long City to ensure that the legitimate aspirations of the people associated are met, along with the interests of the nation.

He affirmed that the merging would open up opportunities for development at a higher level for Hoanh Bo District, thus helping the local economy and also the people's life.

* On November 29 and 30, President Tran Thanh Man of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee joined Can Tho City’s NA deputies to meet voters in the districts of Thot Not and Vinh Thanh.

Speaking at the meetings, he suggested that Can Tho be proactive in assisting farmers to consume their agricultural products and rice right from the beginning of the crop. Farmers need to link with each other and set up cooperatives and linkages with enterprises to build agricultural production chains in order to stabilise output for the key agricultural products of the region, he added.

Regarding the transport infrastructure in the Mekong Delta, Man said that the Government and other relevant units are urgently overcoming difficulties and accelerating the progress of key transport projects in the region, contributing to boosting socio-economic development in the region.

He suggested Can Tho should coordinate with the Ministry of Transport to maintain and repair the degraded sections of the national highways running through Can Tho.
