Defence Attaché in Indonesia, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tuan Duc, reviewed the glorious history of Vietnam People’s Army over the past 75 years under the leadership of Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh.

Vietnam People's Army has gained many important achievements in the building of a People's Army that is revolutionary, regular, elite and increasingly modern as well as ready to fight to defend the country’s independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

So far, Vietnam has set up defence relations with over 80 countries and international organisations, along with all important and key partners.

Vietnam and Indonesia are both ASEAN member countries, sharing many cultural similarities and with a long-standing tradition of friendship. Over the past years, the strategic partnership between the two countries has been increasingly strengthened and continuously developed in all fields, including defence and security cooperation.

The great respect and trust in politics between the two nations have created favourable conditions for comprehensive cooperation in line with the interests and aspirations of the peoples of each country. The cooperation has also contributed significantly to the enhancement of friendly relations and cooperation among ASEAN countries in particular, and on the international stage in general, for peace, stability, cooperation and development of the region and the world.

Also at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tuan Duc introduced the basic contents mentioned within the Vietnam National Defence White Paper 2019.
