NDO - A delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia visited Vladimir oblast on December 18 in a bid to boost cooperation with the Russian locality, which is about 190 kilometres to the east of Moscow.

At the meeting with Vietnamese Embassy officials, Vladimir Governor V. Sipyaghin introduced to them the oblast’s strengths and cooperation priorities.

Located in the Golden Ring of Russia, Vladimir oblast has strengths in tourism, pharmaceuticals, and advanced technology. The oblast is also home to dozens of garments factories owned by Vietnamese people.

Governor Sipyaghin affirmed that the oblast always creates the most favourable conditions possible for Vietnamese businesses and expects them to make further investments in the locality.

For his part, Vietnamese Ambassador Ngo Duc Manh also introduce Vietnamese strengths to Vladimir officials, especially its long coastline and tropical weather, which are appropriate for Russians to go on holiday during the cold Russian winter months.

The diplomat asked the Russian side to pay close attention to fostering cooperation with Vietnam, first in tourism, affirming that the Vietnamese Embassy will continue to act as a bridge to take Russian friends to Vietnam and appreciate its beauty.

In Vladimir oblast, the delegation also visited Biotum, a manufacturer of road and bridge construction materials, Vladimir State University, a Vietnamese-owned garment facility and met the Vietnamese community in the oblast.
