On behalf of the Party, State and Fatherland Front leaders, Binh expressed his best wishes to Xuan Loc Diocesan Bishop Dinh Duc Dao, along with Catholic dignitaries and followers a merry Christmas.
The Deputy PM expressed his deepest appreciation for the contributions of the bishops and dignitaries of Xuan Loc Diocese in guiding the parishioners to actively participate in worthwhile and participating in charitable activities, making important contributions to the process of building and defending the Fatherland.
Bishop Dinh Duc Dao confirmed that he would continue to guide parishioners to actively participate in emulation and charity movements, contributing to building an increasingly prosperous Vietnam.
* On the same day, Binh and his entourage also visited the General Confederation of the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South) and sent Christmas greetings to Head of the General Confederation of the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South) Pastor Thai Phuoc Truong and other pastors and followers of the Church.
Binh expressed his belief that Protestant dignitaries and followers would continue to further promote the patriotic traditions and actively contribute to the cause of building the great national unity bloc, as well as joining the local authorities in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
On behalf of the General Confederation of the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South), Pastor Thai Phuoc Truong thanked the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front for their support in personnel training and developing chapters of the general confederation in provinces and cities. He pledged to encourage Protestant dignitaries and followers to join production activities, charity campaigns and poverty reduction efforts, contributing to the cause of national construction and defence.
* On the afternoon of December 21, the Ho Chi Minh City authorities led by Politburo member and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Nguyen Thien Nhan, visited and congratulated the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South) on the occasion of Christmas and New Year 2020.
Nhan informed the hosts about the city's development over the year and acknowledged and expressed his appreciation of the Protestants’ contributions to the overall development of the city.
* In recent days, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs has organised working missions to visit and extend Christmas greetings to some localities. They visited the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (North) and the Coordinating Board of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Vietnam, as well as visiting and congratulating Protestant organisations and dignitaries in Kon Tum province.
* On December 20, a delegation from the Thua Thien - Hue province authorities, led Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Le Truong Luu, visited and congratulated the Archbishop’s Office of the Hue Archdiocese for this year’s Christmas.
The provincial leaders wished Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Chi Linh, President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam and Archbishop of Hue Archdiocese, as well as priests and parishioners of Hue Archdiocese good health and a merry Christmas.
Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Chi Linh, on behalf of the priests and parishioners of Hue Archdiocese, thanked the local authorities for always paying close attention and having good relations with religious organisations. He also promised to join with fellow parishioners to continue to respond well to act patriotic towards the national emulation movements.
