The event was attended by Politburo members and Secretaries of the Party Central Committee (PCC): Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the PCC Organisation Commission; Nguyen Van Binh, Head of the Economic Commission; Secretaries of the PCC: Phan Dinh Trac, Head of the PCC Commission for Internal Affairs; and Tran Thanh Man, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.
Politburo member, Secretary of the PCC and Head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education Vo Van Thuong chaired the conference.
The report presented at the conference highlighted efforts made by the sector in popularising resolutions, directives, decisions and conclusions as well as other important documents of the Party. The sector comprehensively and synchronously directed and implemented all assigned tasks, significantly contributing to building a strong Party and political system. Many major issues of the country and world were reflected in a timely and accurate manner under Party guidelines and State policies and laws.
Addressing the ceremony, Politburo member Vo Van Thuong spoke highly of the important results that officials and employees in the communication and education sector achieved over the past year.
The sector should continue to assume advisory responsibilities for the PCC, Politburo and PCC Secretariat in issuing guidelines and policies on the fields of communications, political theory, media and publishing, culture, arts, science, and education, he noted.
The Politburo member also urged more attention to be paid to promote innovation in the content and methods of communication and education work; research and propose effective measures to prevent and nullify harmful information and ‘fake news’ on the Internet; and effectively refute incorrect and distorted information released by hostile forces opposing the Party and State.
