National conference between Government and localities concludes

A national teleconference between the Government and localities concluded in Hanoi on December 31.

The annual event had the participation of 14 Politburo members, 10 Secretaries of the Party Central Committee, 60 secretaries of Party Committees of cities and provinces, along with a large number of Chairmen of local People's Committee and leaders of corporations.

The conference aimed to set up plans for implementing the National Assembly’s resolution on socio-economic development tasks for 2020.

In his closing speech, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc assigned the Government Office to collect and acquire opinions and recommendations presented by sectors and localities.

The Government leader reminded the delegates of the instructions made by Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong at the conference, in which, he requested special attention to four lessons, which are upholding and bringing into play the major and historic achievements over the past 30+ years of reforms and the comprehensive results obtained since the tenure’s beginning.

In addition, great importance should be attached to enhancing the solidarity and unison of the entire Party, people and army, to help create positive changes in bringing into full play the Party’s leadership, the State’s management and the people’s right to mastery; making good use of the support and opinions of cadres, Party members, veteran revolutionaries, people and media agencies.

This in turn will help to create combined strength and harmony in the entire political system and the whole of society; and encourage and creating favourable conditions for the private economic sector to develop into an important driving force of the economy and, together with the State and collective economic sectors, become the core force for improving the economy’s self-reliance and integration into the world.

He also expressed his hope that the Government and local authorities will join the whole Party, people and army in standing united, exerting stronger efforts and being more active and creative to successfully achieve the targets set for 2020 and the whole 12th tenure.
