PM Phuc urges for genuine mass mobilisation in 2020

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc urged for genuine mass mobilisation work in 2020 while chairing a national teleconference on January 9 to summarise the mass mobilisation activities in 2019 and deploy the task for the sector in 2020.

Politburo member and Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh, along with Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation, Truong Thi Mai, also co-chaired the event with PM Phuc at Hanoi’s venue. The teleconference featured about 5,200 delegates at various venues from across the nation.

Speaking at the event, PM Phuc praised efforts by the mass mobilisation sector last year, which has contributed significantly to the national socio-economic achievements in 2019, resulting in various records, such as making Vietnam among the world's fastest growing economies, with the import-export turnover reaching US$517 billion and trade surplus at US$10 billion.

As the country witnessing a series of important events in 2020, the cabinet leader required that the mass mobilisation work must adhere to the Government's resolution on socio-economic development tasks and solutions, with the administrations at all levels being close to the people and taking care of them as they should properly promote the close relationships between the people and the State agencies.

The PM said that it is necessary to deeply understand and properly undertake the mass mobilisation work, while focusing on the consensus and how to make all people put all their unanimous efforts in to realise the one common goal.

Mass mobilisation is not only the job of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation but the joint task of the authorities at all levels, he stressed, adding that it is necessary to not only mobilise the people to follow but also improve the quality of the work serving the benefits of the people and taking care of both their mental and physical health.
