Japan supports Vietnam develop e-government

The building of an e-government is very important for the development future of Vietnam; therefore, Japan wishes to support the country to develop an e-government effectively.

The statement was made by Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Umeda Kunio while chairing a workshop on “promoting the e-government development to serve the direction and administration of the Government, ministries, agencies and localities” which was held in Hanoi on February 27.

The event also took place under the chair of Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung.

At the workshop, Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung extended her sincere thanks to Japanese Government, Embassy in Vietnam, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for their support to the Vietnamese Government Office.

The Government Office has worked closely with the ministries, agencies and localities to implement many systems, including national public service portal, and the information system for meeting and handling Government affairs (e-Cabinet).

With the cooperation and support from Japan, Vietnam will continue to make steady steps in the development of an e-government.

For his part, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Umeda Kunio said that Vietnam’s politics is currently stable and the country is welcoming historic opportunities to progress leaps and bounds.

He also noted that the two countries have witnessed remarkable results in their cooperation on administrative reform and e-government development.

Japanese Government sincerely wishes that Vietnam will take advantage of cooperation opportunities to make sustainable development, contributing to the stability and prosperity of the Asia, added the Ambassador.
