PM urges prompt removal of obstacles from areas of cooperation with Russia

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has urged relevant agencies to proactively review and develop specific plans to promptly deal with the shortcomings and obstacles affecting areas of cooperation with Russia, especially in major cooperation projects (energy), investment procedures and cadre training.

The Government leader made the request while chairing a meeting in Hanoi on April 15 to direct the acceleration of large cooperation programmes between the two countries.

He emphasised the historical significance of the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership, which, he said, was established and has been constantly growing on the basis of a fine traditional friendship.

PM Phuc asked relevant agencies to set out priority tasks to accelerate in cooperation with Russia in 2020, thereby contributing to enhancing and further deepening the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership in a substantial and effective manner, meeting the interests of the two nations, and for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

At the meeting, participants gave an overview of the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership, particularly in the areas of politics, foreign affairs, defence, security, and economic, trade and investment cooperation, while proposing measures to remove difficulties and facilitate investment and trade between the two countries.
