The PM, who is also head of the State Steering Committee for building and developing the national defence-security industry, lauded the efforts of the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Public Security as well as the close coordination between ministries and agencies in performing assigned tasks.

He affirmed that building and developing the national defence-security industry is a significant and urgent task, a long-term strategic mission, and the responsibility of the entire Party, people, and armed forces.

Amid rapid developments in the region and the world and Industry 4.0, he asked for making breakthroughs in studying and manufacturing national defence-security products by using modern technology.

The Committee was also asked to step up relevant programmes and planning, refine policies and mechanisms, review the implementation of the Ordinance on National Defence Industry, and propose building the law on national defence industry.

The PM requested the stepping up of training to attract quality workers in the field, combining defence production and industry with the economy to improve worker lives, and working with foreign partners to boost the export of defence-security industrial products.

According to the Committee, Vietnam’s national defence-security capability has been improving in both breadth and depth over recent years.

The Ministry of Public Security initially manufactured several types of technical equipment used for combat of the people’s public security force and others for daily use and for export.
