Reports at the event stated that over the past five years, the emulation campaigns have received a warm response from the local residents, bringing about positive results and boosting the city's stable socio-economic development, even through difficult periods.

From the key emulation campaigns, there have emerged multiple collectives and individuals, with thousands of initiatives and useful solutions across various fields, contributing positively to the socio-economic development of the city.

Speaking at the congress, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh said that to maintain its leading position among the nation’s emulation movements, the city should continue to thoroughly grasp the instructions of Uncle Ho on patriotic emulation, as well as other directives from the Party and the Politburo in the area.

The city also needs to strengthen its communication on the content and meaning of its emulation campaigns in order to attract more officials, Party members, civil servants, workers and residents to participate therein, while focusing on renewing the content and form of emulations as well as replicating effective models and advanced examples during the implementation of such emulation campaigns.

At the event, the Organising Committee presented two third-class Independence Orders, one second-class Labour Order and Emulation Flags from the Government to local outstanding collectives and individuals who made positive achievements in the city’s emulation campaigns during 2015-2020.

On the occasion, Ho Chi Minh City launched a new patriotic emulation campaign for the next period covering 2020-2025.
