Party official reports 14th NA’s ninth sitting results to voters

Politburo member and permanent member of the Secretariat of Party Central Committee Tran Quoc Vuong on June 29 met with voters in Tran Yen District, in the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai, following the 14th National Assembly’s ninth sitting.

At the meeting, voters in the communes of Y Can, Quy Mong and Kien Thanh proposed that the NA and Government should pay further attention to the training and planning of ethnic minority officials as well as to prioritising the preservation of traditional cultural values at risk of disappearance.

They expressed their hope that the Party and State should have preferential treatment policies for people aged 80 and over.

The local voters also asked the Government to consider the allocation of human resources to increase the payment and support in forest protection as well as to readjust some criteria in building new-style rural areas.

Acknowledging the voters’ opinions, Politburo member Tran Quoc Vuong emphasised that the recent session has innovated comprehensively in the spirit of more democracy and openness, meeting their wishes.

He also appreciated the changes in the urban appearance as well as hunger eradication and poverty reduction in Yen Bai, especially Tran Yen District which is the first new-style rural area in the north-western region.

The Party official promised to submit voters suggestions to related functional authorities to be considered and resolved.
