Ninh Thuan holds seventh patriotic emulation congress

The seventh patriotic emulation congress for the 2020-2025 tenure of the south-central province of Ninh Thuan officially convened on August 26, in the presence of Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh.

The congress reviewed and honoured the most outstanding examples in patriotic emulation movements during the 2016-2020 tenure as well as devised tasks for emulation and commendation work for the period 2020-2025.

Speaking at the event, Vice President Thinh appreciated the achievements that Ninh Thuan provincial Party committee, authorities and people has gained in the implementation of patriotic emulation movement over recent years.

She also noted that in addition to great opportunities and advantages, the cause of national construction and defence will face extreme difficulties and challenges in the near future.

The Vice President also noted that the Party Congress at all levels and the 13th National Party Congress will set out policies, guidelines, goals and tasks to boost the country’s renewal, industrialisation, modernisation, construction and defence in the coming years. Accordingly, patriotic emulation continues to be a great driving force to fulfil all set missions and tasks.

She asked Ninh Thuan to continue to thoroughly grasp President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts on patriotic emulation, the Politburo's Directive on “Continuing to renovate emulation and commendation work” and the Law on Emulation and Commendation.

The local authorities should enhance the communication of the contents and significance of patriotic emulation movements, while mobilising the voluntary participation of officials, Party members, civil servants, employees, people from all strata and soldiers of the armed forces, added the Vice President.

She urged the renovation of the contents and forms of emulation movements in association with the implement of political missions.

It is essential to promptly detect, nurture and expand the outstanding examples in patriotic emulation movements, especially in upholding the leading role of officials and managers, said Vice President Thinh.

Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh presents a donation of VND2 billion to Ninh Thuan province.

On the occasion, the working delegation, led by Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, presented the province with VND2 billion, including VND1 billion for the “Fund for the poor in Ninh Thuan” with the remainder to go to the building of social houses and 200 scholarships for outstanding students who are living in difficult circumstances.

At the congress, a collective and two individuals were presented the President’s third-class Labour Order; and three people were conferred with the “National Emulation Soldiers” title. In addition, nine other individuals received the PM’s certificates of merit for their achievements during the 2015-2019 period.
