Ho Chi Minh City National University receives Labour Hero title

Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City held its fifth Patriotic Emulation Congress and received the Labour Hero title for the Doi Moi (Renewal) period on November 20.

The event was attended by Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh.

Speaking at the congress, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh lauded the outstanding achievements the Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City has gained in past years.

She asked the university to focus on innovation and the completion of an advanced university governance model while raising the political quality, morality, capacity and prestige of officials, teachers and scientists to fulfil all goals and criteria for the 2021-2025 period.

The Vice President also urged the university to improve its quality of training, promote of top-notch scientific study, enhance creative innovation and implement national development strategies and missions

Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City should proactively accelerate its integration and cooperation with both the region and the world as well as it strengthens the connection between localities and enterprises and promotes its social responsibility to serve the community, she added.

Vice President Thinh also emphasised the innovation and improvement of patriotic emulation movements, creating a driving force for the university’s collectives and individuals to devote themselves to the national educational cause.

On the occasion, she presented 30 scholarships to outstanding students living in difficult circumstances.
