Gathering marks Laos’ 45th National Day

The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisation’s Ho Chi Minh City chapter held a gathering on November 27 to mark Laos’ 45th National Day.

While congratulating the Lao Party, Government and people on their achievements over the past 45 years, President of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association – HCM City chapter Huynh Cach Mang emphasised that Vietnam and Laos are close neighbours who have worked side by side in each other’s revolutionary journey.

History has showed that Vietnam – Laos special solidarity is a source of power motivating the two countries to fight and win their struggles for national liberation as well as their national construction and defence.

Following on from these fruitful bilateral relations, cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Lao localities has deepened with practical results.

He pledged that his association will continue promoting its role as a bridge linking the peoples of the two countries as well as working to further promote the special Vietnam – Laos relationship.

For his part, Deputy Consul General of Laos in HCM City Vanxay Xaysena briefed participants on the encouraging achievements gained by the Lao people over the past 45 years, affirming that the outcomes have been attributable to the huge support of the Vietnamese Party, Government and people.

He expressed his thanks for the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisation’s Ho Chi Minh City chapter for their coordination in hosting people-to-people diplomatic activities.

He also asserted that the General Consulate of Laos in HCM City will join hands with its Vietnamese friends to nurture and develop the traditional friendship and special solidarity between Laos and Vietnam, for the interests of the two peoples and for peace, cooperation and progress in the region and the world at large.
