Five issues of concern sent to National Assembly

Based on thousands of opinions from voters and the public submitted to the 14th National Assembly’s 11 session, the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee has made recommendations on five major issues.

“The Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, in coordination with the NA Standing Committee, has collected 2,278 opinions from voters and the public from the 14 National Assembly’s 10 session,”said President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Tran Thanh Man when presenting a report to the 14th NA’s 11 session on March 25.

On the basis of the submitted opinions, the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee proposed five major issues to the NA.

Firstly, the NA, the Government, ministries, sectors and localities should soon issue a specific programme to bring the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress to life.Personnel work regarding State leadership positions must ensure democracy, objectivity, strictness, solidarity and unity among the Party and the entire people.

Secondly, it is suggested that the NA and the Government continue to strengthen direction, inspection and supervision to successfully organise the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure while ensuring the election will be conducted in a democratic, lawful, and thrifty manner.

Thirdly, it is proposed that the NA and the Government continue to have solutions to renew and improve the quality of the organisation and operation of the State apparatus and to effectively implement the prevention and fight against corruption and wastefulness. They shouldensure that State agencies are streamlined and operateeffectively, meeting the requirements of innovation and international integration.

Fourthly, it is suggested that the NA, Government, ministries, sectors and localities continue implementing solutions to recover and promote socio-economicdevelopment and ensure social security amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fifthly, the NA, the Government, ministries, sectors and localities should continue to realise the recommendations of voters, the public and the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, as sent to the sessions at the 14th National Assembly.

President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Tran Thanh Man said that the people expressed their delight at the success of the 13th National Party Congress and hoped that the election of deputies to the 15th NA and the People’s Councils for the 2021-2026 tenure will also be a success.

Voters and the public also appreciated the Party and State for their drastic and effective direction of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the maintenance of socio-economic development.
